Job Title: (Internal) Diversity Equity and Inclusion Work Group - Extra Duty Assignment
Reports to: Director of People and Culture
Department: Office of the CEO
Overview: Travel Oregon is seeking passionate, committed team member to join our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work group as part of an extra duty assignment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to advancing DEI initiatives across the agency. Selected members will collaborate on critical projects, including conducting a comprehensive DEI Audit, and help shape the future of an inclusive workplace culture.
Eligibility: All interested team members are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in DEI work and the ability to contribute meaningfully to the Work Group objectives.

Time Commitment: Members of the DEI work group will commit to approximately 5–10 hours per month, which includes attending monthly meetings, participating in task force activities, and contributing to DEI-related initiatives. This extra duty assignment is expected to last for [24 months for the first cohort and 18 months for future cohorts depending on the budget].
DEI Audit Work Includes:
- Analyzing workforce demographics, including hiring, promotions, and turnover.
- Assessing workplace culture through surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
- Reviewing recruitment, hiring, and professional development practices.
- Evaluating pay equity and accessibility for all employees.
- Examining current policies and practices to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
- Proposing actionable recommendations for advancing DEI initiatives.
Submission Deadline: Applications must be submitted by January 13th, 2025. Late applications will not be considered.
Selection Process: Applications will be reviewed by a committee consisting of Dr. Logan, Director for People and Culture, and local DEI experts. Candidates will be evaluated on:
- Demonstrated interest and experience in DEI work.
- Depth and originality of essay responses.
- Alignment with Travel Oregon’s DEI goals and values.
Next Steps: Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview to further discuss their application and ideas for the Work Group.
